Geoffrey Sadek - Head Coach
Geoff has been involved in rowing for 9 years. He began rowing at Forest Hills Northern in the spring of 2004 during his junior year. He spent the following two summers rowing in a competitive summer program in the Grand Rapids area. Geoff attended Grand Valley State University where he stroked the Varsity 8+ for 4 years, twice competed at the Royal Henley Regatta in Henley-on-Thames, England, and spent one summer in the senior development camp at Vesper Rowing Club in Philadelphia. He graduated from GVSU in 2009 with a BS in Biomedical Sciences. For the last three years he coached the Grand Valley Freshmen men, with one bronze medalist Lightweight 8 and one 4th place Heavyweight 8 in the Dad Vail Regatta in Philadelphia. He comes back to the Forest Hills program with the intention of providing guidance and structure to a historied program to bring it to the next level.

Nichole Hagoort
Nichole began her rowing career at Northern Michigan University, after two years of being a scholarship volleyball player at Henry Ford Community College. After her novice season she transferred to Grand Valley State University, where she double majored in Psychology and Criminal Justice. While rowing at GVSU, she won two National Championships, and was invited to the Under 23 National Team Identification Camp, and placed 3rd at the prestigious Head of the Charles Regatta. In her senior season, Nichole was honored as a 1st Team All-American athlete at the ACRA National Championships, in Gainesville, GA. Nichole comes to the FHC rowing program fresh from the fires of national-caliber collegiate training in her first year coaching rowing.

Kris Bego
Kris joined the FHC Crew Team in 2004 as a freshman and continued to row through all four years of his high school career. Kris was part of the 2005 and 2006 State Championship teams, earning top medals in both championships. In 2005, Kris rowed in the first FHC Men’s boat to win a medal at the Midwest Championships. After graduating FHC in 2007, Kris periodically came back to help out with the team. During the 2009 season, Kris became a regular with the team and has since taken over the reins as coach for the Men’s Novice squad. Kris is a graduate of Grand Valley State University.

Nell Jager
Nell started rowing at FHC in 1996 as a freshman. She graduated in 2000 after rowing all fours years with the team She earned an athletic scholarship to row for Barry University in Miami FL. Nell attend Barry and rowed for all four years. While attending Barry University, Nell earned the right to compete at the NCAA rowing championships 2 out of 4 years. She is CPR/AED, first aid and WSI/ lifeguard trained and certified.

Kacie Johnson
Coach Kacie Johnson has been involved in rowing for the past ten years. She rowed for Forest Hills Central and then moved on to row at Michigan State University. Throughout the years Coach Johnson has coached for Grand Rapids Rowing Association, Forest Hills Northern, and Forest Hills Central at both the novice and varsity levels. She serves as a board member representing West Michigan in the Scholastic Rowing Association of Michigan which hosts the State Championship Regatta every spring. During the summers Coach Johnson enjoys coaching the kid camps and adult learn-to-row program. As a teacher and coach in the Forest Hills community, Coach Johnson enjoys teaching her students and athletes how to lead a healthy lifestyle.

Mia Pavletic
Mia is a 2004 graduate of Forest Hills Central and rowed for four years as well as two years on scholarship at the State University of New York at Buffalo where she was a member of the Dad Vail gold medal winning Novice 8+. Mia started assisting at FHC in 2006 after an injury kept her from competing at the collegiate level. Coach Mia has been named as the head women's novice coach in 2008. Mia is CPR and First Aid certified. We are fortunate that Mia transferred to Grand Valley State University and is assisting us here at FHC. Mia has also taken on the head coaches position for the adult learn to row program in the summer.
