Fall 2009 Racing Schedule
Saturday, October 10, 2009 - Forest Hills Challenge- Invitational Head Race
FHC, EGR and FHE
Location: Forest Hills Boathouse
Time: racing begins at 10 AM
All athletes should arrive at the boathouse at 8:30 AM
Race distance is 4500 meters

All crews will launch from the docks at approximately 9:30AM and proceed to the starting line. Starting at 10AM, crews will be released from the staring line every 10 to 15 seconds and will proceed to the finish line that will be approximately 5000 meters away. The boathouse is approximately the 3/4 way mark on the course. Depending on the crew, the time to complete the course will range from 15 to 18 minutes. All crews will return to the docks upon completion of the last boat to cross the line. In "Head Style" racing, each boat races against the clock and has to contend with the possibility of passing other boats or being passed.
The race will be run with the current (from right to left as you face the water).
Parents and friends are welcome to view the racing from the boathouse and along the walking path. We will need a few volunteers to man safety launches along the race course.
Saturday, October 24, 2009 - Grand River Challenge
Location: Grand Rapids Rowing Association Boathouse
Time: TBD
Note: Transportation is NOT provided, Directions click here
(The boat launch and parking area is approximately 1/4 mile inside of the Greenleaf facility)
For the regatta Information Packet from the Grand Rapids Rowing Association, (will be posted when available)
NOTE: Upon completion of this Regatta, all team members will be asked to return to the boathouse to secure all of the equipment
